2024 Bond Proposal

Information Hub

The purpose of this section of our website is to inform the McDougle Community and greater public about the 2024 CHCCS Bond Proposal. We are sharing the details we have gathered and are providing access to available documents and data. This is an evolving and fast-moving process, and we are doing our best to keep all information on this site up-to-date and factual.

We understand that both CHCCS and Orange County school buildings are in dire need of repairs and replacements, and we genuinely want to support the acquisition of necessary funds to improve our public schools. But we cannot back the current bond proposal and consider the plan lacking in thoughtfulness, thoroughness, community input, and collaboration. It is our hope that the Board of County Commissioners and the School Board will work with other leaders and the community at large to create a plan that captures our community’s strengths and values.

Bond Proposal Plan WILL Affect MES/MMS!

The Orange County Bond Proposal Plan approved by our CHCCS School Board on May 16th would move all of the MMS (McDougle Middle School) and MES (McDougle Elementary School) students out of the McDougle campus to other district schools and turn the McDougle campus into the new elementary Spanish dual language program campus.

This School Bond will be on the November 2024 ballot for voter approval.

Principal Jones is working hard to gather more information from the District and the MES PTA and concerned families have also been working behind the scenes to study this proposal and gather information in an effort to better understand its impact on our McDougle community.

If you have questions and concerns you would like to share with the MES PTA, please do so here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/10x4cgWBeBHfXlEVGrBM1ZvX1SoU902a_u2htw0cUDJ4/edit?usp=sharing_eil_se_dm&ts=664cf6b8
