District Level Volunteer Opportunity - Get Involved with SNAC
The Special Needs Advisory Council (SNAC) is organized with four current workgroups. The members of these workgroups study areas of concern brought forward by its members and the special needs community. We then collaborate with district staff and advocate on these issues to the District, Superintendent, and Board of Education. We invite you to read below to learn more about each workgroup. Please fill out the form attached if you would like to join a workgroup listserv or the general SNAC email listserv, which sends communications about monthly meetings, resources, and important updates. Even if you are unable to attend workgroup meetings, the leaders do send out email communications.
Our four current workgroups include:

McDougle Garden Volunteer Opportunity
The McDougle Garden has become very out of control and we are in desperate need of some help getting it maintainable again. We are planning to cover crop all of the beds for the fall, to keep them low maintenance and in good condition. We need to get them ready for when students come back and teachers need a safe, open, outdoor classroom space, however, in order to get there, we need to start by pulling all of the weeds that have taken over.
Please contact either Ms. Olley at lolley@chccs.k12.nc.us or Jess Pusch, School Garden Coordinator, Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, at jpusch19@gmail.com for additional information about the McDougle Garden.
