Composting Program

MES is now composting thanks to PTA volunteers Corie Gallemore, Heather Kennealy, community partner Compost Now, and a Green Neighborhoods grant from the Town of Carrboro. This new program launched in the MES kitchen in December 2024 and rolled out to teachers and students in February 2025.

We began composting in December 2024 and these data are from March 2025. Look how at our impact in just 4 short months!
