The School Improvement Team (SIT) is a state-mandated organization composed of elected McDougle Elementary School staff and parents. The main roles of the MES SIT are to develop a school improvement plan to strengthen student performance and to serve as an advisory group to MES’s leadership by providing input on issues such as school programs, philosophy, climate, and safety.
The MES PTA is responsible for holding elections for parent representatives to the SIT. Parents are elected to fill 2 year terms for vacant SIT positions. We particularly welcome parents from racially and economically diverse backgrounds to run for the SIT in order to ensure that our SIT reflects the diverse population of our wonderful school. If you are interested in running, please contact email@example.com.
SIT meetings are open to the MES community. In 2021-2022, all meetings are virtual until further notice, and the SIT meets the second Monday of each month from 5 - 6:30PM. MES community members are also welcome to contact any member of the SIT with questions, comments, or concerns.
